Every two years
Dozza is a town located in the hills of Emilia-Romagna, about a dozen kilometres east of Bologna. People come here to see the 13th century fortress equipped with its own dungeons, the Romanesque church of Santa Maria and the painted walls.
Every two years internationally renown artists get together in this town of 6000 inhabitants and paint its walls. We were there in the summer of 2012 and this is what we saw.
Dozza “the capital of the modern fresco” is Italy’s only open-air modern art gallery and the best part, it’s open year round and it’s free!
